It’s my understanding that Zagato Aston Martins are built by Aston Martin, whereas Touring does not work with any manufacturer directly. You might think this puts Touring at an advantage, but their stuff always seems to look unfinished or tacky, whereas Zagato Aston Martins look like an OEM finished product with style.
...debate!

I don’t know about you, but this Zagato sure looks absolutely mortified:

A debate eh?
It’s been a while since I had one personally , but I watched one on TV recently and I think I am supposed to tell you to shut the hell up and that you’re killing America.
I’d go for the Aston Martin backed one. I’ve seen a couple IRL and wow.

The only Touring I like is the Bentle y shooting brake. The others suck.
The DBS Zagato on the other hand, is pure sex.

The headlights are great but the rest is like they didn’t know when to stop.
Zagato. Always Zagato.

Always Zagato. Always. Their stuff is just so polished and usually beautiful.

They chiseled and chiseled until there was nothing left of the rear.

Do Touring actually produce road cars? Some companies seem to endlessly release concepts without actually producing.
That’s a big decider for me. Building a concept is much easier than producing the real thing. And so, less impressive. Zags may be based on Astons, but that means they actually get built, which is hard to look past.

This one is limited to 15, so yes.

I’ve got that vid saved in my watch later :) Really can’t wait.
Impressed that they’ve actually built a car. Some companies like Sbarro feel like they’re all concepts.

Touring every single day and twice on Sunday. Touring is an actual coachbuilder who builds very limited edition cars based on chassis that are brought to them. Every car in their series is tailor made for the customer.
These days Zagato is a company that mostly redesigns Aston Martins with the same details they have been depending on for decades. You can go and order a modern Zagato from your friendly neighborhood dealership(assuming they have an allocation).
While Touring dips its toes in the retro pool, most of their cars have very little resemblance to each other or the car they started life as. I find their designs much more elegant and complete than Zagato’s. I’ve been fortunate to see several of the modern AM Zagatos and 2 Touring cars in the past few years. I found the Astons to look tacky, particularly the horrific interior.
The top one is a 2018 and has literally hundreds of Zs around the interior. It has killed Zagatos for me since then as they make me think it’s just for some rich footballer with no class . Bottom one is a 2020 and even worse.
I really liked listening to the designer in the video below as he goes over details.
Probably the cleanest Touring design:
